Ekalaka Public Schools is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and energetic Assistant Cook to support our kitchen team in providing nutritious meals for our students. The Assistant Cook will work closely with the Head Cook, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring a clean and efficient workspace. This role demands a commitment to food safety and a willingness to learn and follow established recipes. We are currently accepting applications for part-time. The starting wage is $16.16 per hour.

QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrates aptitude for successful performance of the tasks listed.
REPORTS TO: Head Cook and Superintendent
JOB GOAL: To prepare and serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmth.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

Assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.

Assumes responsibility for seeing that during meal serving periods the supply of foods offered is replenished regularly.

Performs major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as assigned by supervisor.

Assists in the daily cleanup of the kitchen and the service area.

Assumes responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.

Performs such other duties as appropriate for the job.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy in Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
