NOTICE OF INTENT TO INCREASE NONVOTED LEVIES

March 12, 2018

As an essential part of its budgeting process, the Ekalaka Public Schools Board of Trustees is authorized by law to impose levies to support its budget. The Board estimates the following increases/decreases in revenue and mills for the funds noted below for the next school fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018, using certified taxable valuations from the current school fiscal year as provided to the district:

Ekalaka Elementary District #15

This image is a table of the projected levies for the 5 funds Transportation (1.97 mills, .78 mills lower than last year), Bus depreciation (.77 Mills, .19 mills higher than last year), Tuition (.96 mills, .22 lower than last year), Adult Ed (.21, .21 higher than last year), and Building Reserve (.98, the same as last year.).

The District intends to use the permissive Building Reserve levies listed above for energy efficiency and safety issues (roof and drainage to avoid ice build-up).

Carter County High School

This covers the change in Mills for the five Permissive non voting levies for the High School district: Transportation .86, .11 lower than last year; Bus depreciation .91, .02 lower than last year; Adult Ed .04 higher than last year; Building Reserve .35, 1.56 lower than last year.

The District intends to use the permissive Building Reserve levies listed above for improving energy efficiency.
